BIAS - fashion reaction, Exhibition 2 May - 30 May

Hamilton Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition BIAS – fashion reaction juried by Baltimore fashion designer Julie Bent May 2-31. Artists’ working in a variety of media  explore the role of fashion in our lives.  “Fashion is a river running through the landscape of human experience. It defines future eras and responds to current societal trends. Fashion is embedded with commentary on our culture. It is a window into people’s desires and a harbinger of things to come.” JB

Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Alfred University and Certificates in Apparel Design and Patternmaking from the Baltimore City Community College. The exploration of fashion has grounded her work as an artist across numerous media, including printmaking, video, glass, neon, and currently garment design.
Julie has presented at Baltimore Fashion Week and RAW Artists. She collaborated with Form Boutique to create an exclusive collection for the store. Other collaborations include work with Red Prairie Press and Radica Textiles. Her personal line is Julie Bent, and her work as a designer and stylist can be viewed at juliebent.com.
